Have you seen one of these? The ugly stick was applied liberally! :shudder:
I'd take a Marauder for domestic, Audi A4 for European (or possibly a Volvo), or a Mazda 6 for Japanese (I also think the Acura TL is a gorgeous car. You can find 2 year olds for around your price range).

I second a used TL. May be able to find a almost new TSX for that price range also.

Yes, I've seen a few. It isn't too bad. When 450k of them are around, everyone will learn to accept it. I don't think it will have the fate of the 1996 Taurus when it lost 125k/yr in sales.

Smoking clutches are from the idiots. Some are getting 50k out of a stock clutch.
Besides for under a grand you can get an Exedy and have a clutch that will last longer than the trans itself.

The MS6 has been having trouble producing its advertised HP. Putting in less then 93 octane reduces power and because of the intercooler design it is largely affected by heat soak... Too inconsistant for me... One review had it taking 25 seconds to reach 100mph.

Most of the powerloss problems seem to be working themselves out with time. Which is odd since most people thought that they'd increase as ambient temperatures rose. Still no agreement on what exactly causes the powerloss issues.
The lack of power with anything less than 93 continues to be an issue for those that live in areas where 93 isn't available.
But when the car is running as it should, as it does for 95% of people, it blows it's claimed power out of the water, with torque levels at the wheels as high as the engine itself is rated at.
