Both of my cars run K&N filters and both have posted Silicon levels well below the universal norms in multiple used engine oil analysis over about 45,000 total miles. For my wifes car the Si levels actually dropped when I switched to a K&N, even though it was a longer oil drain interval than was used previous (meaning that less dirt got past it over an even longer interval of time).
