That is still a pretty vague statement....as you said, you had a filter "like" that which means it wasn't a True Flow but it was a different manufacturer of a foam type filter. If this filter was known to fall apart after a short period of time the company surely wouldn't gaurantee it for life...let alone even still be in business. I would check out some of the information on their website...you'll be pretty amazed. On top of acting as a better filter than K & N's and other various surface filters...True Flow will flow just about as good or even better when dirty.
