Actually it's NOT an aftermarket remote system. It's the factory system with the Mercury logo on the remote. The remote has the 4 buttons on it..Panic, lock, unlock and trunk. The panic button is red and the trunk one is blue. I meant in my first post that if I hold the PANIC button down, the alarm would start up.
I checked the trunk and it does have the remote trunk option as I can see the solenoid for it.
