Thanks to all who have advised me regarding my overheating problem.
I now have another conundrum that I need your help with...
My '95 Mystique LS 2.5 litre has remote locks and trunk and the rmeote locks do not work with the remote. When I press the unlock button on the remote twice, the interior lights come on, as well the car will chirp if I press the lock button twice and the panic alarm will come on if I hold that buton down. The trunk button won't work. So I know the remote unit in the car is getting the signals. I have replaced the batteries in the remote and still get the same results.
If I press the power lock button on the passenger door, all the doors will lock and vice versa with the unlock button on the passenger door. The drivers door power lock buttons do not work. I have replaced the switch on that door but it still won't work. I can only power lock/unlock all doors at once via the passenger switch. I cannot figure out what the problem is on the drivers door but I suspect the solenoid on that door may be toast, but that doesn't make sense since the passenger door switch will lock/unlock the drivers door fine. Key locks work fine.
Anyone have any ideas? I have tried to reprogram the remote unit under the glove box by jumpering the programming connector and it chirps when I turn the key off, but I could not get it to chirp when I press the remote buttons.
Anything else I could check into or perhaps I am doing something wrong with the programming? This has been like this since I got the car. Drove me nuts when my locks got frozen and I couldn't unlock the car without heating the key up during the winter.
TIA!
