Mine was only slightly worse then that. I got hit in the same place, and the wheel was cocked in twoards the motor.
It might be better off hoping they total it, it wont drive the same.....

you'd be surprised. Wheel definitley took an impact, enough of an impact to break the rim...and enough to twist where the control arms connect to the frame.
That's exactly what I'm concerned about. The wheel definitely took a hard hit and there could be quite a few problems related to that. At this point I honestly hope they do total it because I doubt the car will ever be the same and the fact that the value will be garbage doesn't help either. If they do total it, I've narrowed my choices down to 2 cars...... You'll have to wait for pics

I think everything will work out in the end for you. It looks like that SUV had a can opener that ate your fender.

Looks to be about the same amount of damage, less sheetmetal but slightly more structurally than mine (mine was just sheet metal damage). The insurance wanted to total mine with only $4200 estimate. The body shop owner and I convinced the ins. co. to fix it since it's a limited production model, was in excellent condition prior, and has a build number of 0006.

sucks man, sounds like your frame or something on the frame might be bent too. hell, sometimes little things can bend a frame. i hit a curb with a '93 sable, and it bent the frame in. sucks.

Its sad to see a long time CEG-er have this happen to his car, but like everyone said, its good your ok, period  if they don't total it out, have someone break those headlights so you can get new ones
