the g-tech is quite possibly one of the funnest things i have done in the car.
i ran 3 6.6x's, a 7.01 and ab 8.3 (massive wheelspin).
then we put it in my friends civic's. 93dx stick, best of 9.95, average was 11, he ran a lot of 12's and some 14's.
auto dx 00, ran a 10.35 best, many 12's. that car runs faster times if you just leave it in overdrive and not putting it in 2nd.

we didn't have a spot to run a safe 1/4 mile w/o traffic. and we have no clue where we can test continous g's, you need to hold it for 3 seconds.

anyways, it's a whole helluva lot of fun smile

I'm suggesting that we do both weekends. True, there may be a few less people at each event, BUT, at least everyone who wants to go has said that they can make at least one of those days (though not both).
Personally, I'm aiming at this weekend's meet. I cannot make it on the 27th, and would like to take a look at some of the mods that people have made. If we are still going to BBQ, perhaps we should get directions and times... (though through email or PMs is better than publishing directions on the web..)

Cheers,
Tom

I may go to the 27th meet and possibly stop by late on the 20th. Maybe around 5-6pm I can come to the first meet at Paul's house.

Heya everyone,

For those that are planning on coming to the meet THIS saturday (10/20). Have any of you done the transmission fluid "coctail" (synthetic transmission fluid, and some Ford stuff.. not sure what it is)?

If so, would this be something that could be done at one of the techie day meets, and what would I need? (do I really use Mobile 1 motor oil, or is it something else, AND, what the heck is the Ford stuff I need?)

I have already changed my oil from Dino the original oil, to Mobile 1 synthetic, and would like to make my transmission as happy as the rest of my engine...

Can you tell I'm clueless about this? :p :p :p

Cheers,
Tom

I've done it before. It's nothing hard. I'll see if i have the part # for the Ford Friction Modifier at home, if not I think it's in the FAQ or how-to.
You need to get 3 quarts of Mobil 1 Automatic Transmission Fluid, or something similiar.
And you need a pump, or some kind of way to get the fluidinto the fill plug. It's positioned horizontally so you won't be able to pour it in.

Nothin difficult and you won't have a problem doing it at the meet.

I MIGHT be able to stop by for a bit on the 20th, but I can't stay long.

BTW, on the tranny fluid change, I switched to Mobil 1 a while back, and I did pour it in. I jacked up the front of the car and then used a funnel with attached hose to pour the fluid in. Worked great. My hose was a little short, so I had to take out the battery though.
