Mine is a 98. This is what I had to do to wire the LED in the handle light:

    1. Pulled the window switch cluster out
    2. Located the two wires that controlled the light in the switch
    3. Cut the insulation to the two wires
    4. Soldered the LED lead to the bare wire for the window light.
    5. Insulated each new soldered wire.

With the LED wired to the window switch lead, the light will come on whenever the car is on, just like the switch lights. You could also wire it to the door lock switch light, but I had an easier time locating the correct 2 wires on the window switch. A wire splice crimper would also work in place of soldering, I just like to make sure things are wired for life.

It's from an Emmy-winning episode of "Everybody Loves Raymond." Ray loves cheese, but to get back at his wife during an argument he leave some super-smelly cheese in a suitcase for a week. After they worked it out, he said that line. Funniest damn episode of Raymond EVER!
