I have observed that often the right side gets dirtier in general. I have also observed that when there is slightly uneven break wear it is usually more so on the right side.
The speculation I have often heard is that the right side of the road, closest to the gutter, tends to throw up more water and dirt and lends to additional wear.
I will only go so far as to say that it is interesting speculation.
