Well, my battery finally died a few days ago, and I began my quest to find one to replace it. I drove out to Sac to Costco, and they didn't have a battery for our car. So I tried Walmart next, then Kragen. Both were like "sorry, don't have a battery for your car". It's oh so frustrating. Anyway, I called Autozone, and they *do* have them in stock, but they're $60! Aren't batteries just usually around $35 or so? I think it's time to call the parents to beg for money.
Well, just thought I'd share. Out of curiosity, how long does a battery usually last? And how long was it before you guys replaced yours?

$35? Maybe in 1960 they were $35. I just replaced the one in my '95 for the first time and it was $75 from PepBoys

Well, maybe not $35, but the batteries at Costco were NOT $75. I was just surprised that they didn't have one that fit my car, since they seem to have one that fit every other car. I mean, if my dad can find a battery at Costco for his van, his jet ski, and my mom's eclipse, why not my contour?

Usually depends on the battery and or car. My wifes Jetta uses a certain type of battery and costs $85. $60 is not a lot for a battery.

Wal Mart - pn 41-40 for $40 dollars, 2 year replacement guarantee. Perfect fit. Or Sears for a die hard for like 75.

I tried Walmart, but the girl I talked to in the automotive dept. said they didn't have one that fit. Maybe she had no clue what she was talking about, or maybe they were out of stock. I don't know. Anyway, the $60 I spent was not that big of a deal, I was just frustrated that I had to drive all over the place to find it. Hmm, then again, I got to drive my boyfriend's Volvo and that's always a ton of fun! (So really, I'm not that upset.)
