There you have it, Bill Jenkins, is he a parts guy? or a matchmaker? Wait, you're both right!
Ok, enough silliness, go start another thread about this off-topic stuff, lol.

Painful to be one of the few thinking the opposite of this title, but for what its worth Iâ??ll share my very recent experience.
Ordered my first set of parts for my 96 from Bill on 5 Apr 2006 â???I wanted to see how it would turn out. Nothing to complex, but a selection of stuff that a solid understanding of the car as an enthusiast would be useful â??? even essential.
The ordering process was fantastic! Bill knew just what I was looking for with only vague descriptions:
"Need the grill attachment part that breaks sometimes when you do a cabin air filter replacementâ? â??No Problem, I own a similar car â??? can I give you some advice?"
â??Need all the parts required to do an upper and lower intake cleaningâ? â??Got the list right here â??? will you be changing injector O-rings?â?
â??Need the Cougar caliper brackets so I can run SVT sized front rotorsâ? â??No problem!â?
And so on.
Ordering the stuff could not be better!
Most of the parts were supposed to arrive on 7 Aprâ?¦
Well... sent an email 12 April asking what happened to which Bill almost immediately replied that heâ??d look in to it and Iâ??d have my parts by 14 April.
Well... still nothing. No email saying itâ??s on the wayâ?¦ Not even a charge to my credit card.
Just not seeing right now how this is better than building a relationship with a local Ford parts department.
Today, 15 April, I am putting the brakes back together with standard sized rotors. Iâ??ll just have to postpone the manifold cleaning for a year. (Or whenever I can set aside time for it again). Definitely not a good experience.
Maybe Rara or N2EAL would let me â??channelâ? my orders through them (just kidding! - or am I?).

Jim,
I don't order OFTEN from Bill, but that isn't because he isn't wonderful.
I would DEFINITELY not take this particular experience to heart, or let it sway your decision to use him again, should you need to.
Certainly give it a shot and see that the excellent service (you saw that part) and SPEEDY delivery (you will see it, if you try again) are a NORMAL thing.. and this was DEFINITELY abnormal.

While I have had only good experiences dealing with Bill Jenkins and I would recommend him in a heartbeat, do note that Steve at Tousley Ford is also recommended by others on this site. I just have not used his services yet to be able to recommend him. So for those who have not had good experiences with Bill, don't fret, Steve can also help out.
Oh, and I find it easier because Bill is also a CEGer. I can PM him and he can reply me quick. Plus he knows what problems we are dealing with most of the time.

Well, any parts dept. can have issues filling an order, even Bill's, I mean, I'm sure he doesn't pack all the orders up himself to ship them out.
My point being, that Bill has gone the extra mile for many of the folks here when they needed it, finding the right parts that other dealers would just look at you funny and go SVT what? Case in point, my insurance company kept quiting the repair on my car with a standard contour single pipe exhaust and refused to correct it until I provided them w/ proof that there was a specific cat-back for the SVT model; and Bill provided that proof for me to send. Plus, I had a big order of a bunch of random odds and ends, and he sorted thrught hte whole thing for me, and made corrections where I had missed things, and when parts were on backorder, he searched the dealer network for them until he found one in stock, and is having it drop shipped to me.

Bill truly is my hero. I got a full Focus SVT front brake set for next to nothing, shipping was cheap, and by goodness, they were shipped next day! I got that heavy box the same week.

That is the thing I like about Bill. Dealers around here will just tell you, "It's no longer available", and send you on your way. Bastages.
Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

I too have had exceptional service from Bill.
This thread reminds me of an experience with my favorite mexican restaurant nearby. It has been in the same spot with the same family ownership since 1948. When the original owner died a few years ago, it was taken over by one of her adult kids and continues to be run as it has for decades. It is a very busy restaurant with an exceptional reputation and really excellent food.
About two years ago it was so crowded that we looked around and decided to eat elsewhere that night and left. An unusual experience. As we were leaving, another couple followed us out. It was their first time. They announced that they would never try the place again. My wife and quickly pointed out that doing so would be a big mistake as they would be missing out on some really great food. I have been back many times since, at that one time I felt the need to walk away has proven to be an aboration.
I'm sorry to hear that things didn't work out with Bill with someone, and I hope this isn't the beginning of a trend, but he has my business. His accuracy and desire to please even exceeds dealerships that I once worked in where I know all the players in the parts room.
