No trimming should be required with any of our products, they are all tested to work with our cable. The FH-24 does include a trim ring to accept 4 and 8 gauge. Make sure that is removed when installing 4 gauge wire.
Ah ok... I wasn't using your wire, the wire had rather thick insulation. Also, I thought the trim ring was to keep out water... I had a hell of a time getting the wire through that...
