Salt water tank? Do you get problems with algal blooms now that natural light reaches the tank?

For $6k you could go toe the Barrier Reef and have a 2 week holiday for two in Australia and see all the fish you want and eat them too!

sure, but after that, you have nothing. at least with a tank, you have something nice to look at every day.

Actually, not at all. The pumps create about 3000GPH flow which helps with any algea probelms. I have magnets to clean the glass and every now in then I need to put on the snorkel mask and clean along the sand.

Right the memories of a Trip to Australia and the Barrier Reef is nothing.
If I had a $1 for everytime someone said to me "wow, you're from Australia? I've always wanted to go there!" I'd be rich. Nothing beats travelling and the experiences, memories, photos, videos you bring back from it. Better than a fish tank anyday in my books.

personally, i wouldn't spend $6K on either. that could be a s/c kit for my car... or a nice hot tub. but i was just trying to make a point. different strokes for different folks.
