yeah that's great, a criminal remembered as a pillar. That's part of the problem, I don't have anything against rap music, but it's really too bad that so many criminals are glorified because of their rap careers.

The problem with America is stupidity.
I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment
for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety
labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

After reading the sotry in the paper. He deserved what was coming to him.
What type of ignorant fool would would pull a gun on some one. Over a pool gamne??
I know proof is the answer, but was he on drugs? Did they check his blood, they always do. It wasn;t mentioned in the paper.
Either way what ever he had in his systems, it seems he went to who ever god he wanted to see.
I reject your reality and substitute my own.

just an update!
DETROIT - A man who police say was shot by rapper Proof, just before Proof himself was killed, died of his wounds early Tuesday, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Keith Bender had been in critical condition since being shot in the head a week ago at the CCC, a nightclub on Eight Mile Road, the boundary between Detroit and the northern suburbs.

His family can sue anyone, however with no one charged with anything it will most likely not stand up in court. The cousin was charged with unlawful use of a firearm in the city limits and ccw without permit...the first will get dropped...the second he may have to eat...but he should go get a CCW NOW and use it as a pre-emptive strike. Prove to the court he was willing to do the right thing and get legal...they may drop both charges. I am suprised Proof was not charged or something.....the Vet's family will be suing Proof's in a quick hurry.....its only a matter of time. Was the Vet a bouncer there or was he just partying (last I heard he was out partying because his pacemaker was being removed for good)...

"Rap music is just computerized crap. I listen to Top of the Pops and after three songs I feel like killing someone". -George Harrison I bet this is a huge loss to society (Proof). I bet he could have won the Nobel prize for finding a cure for cancer.

Ah yes, feedback from the most irrelevant Beattle. I'd take an opinion on rap from Yanni as more valuable than George Harrison. I respect people's opinion if they don't like certain genres, but the blanket stereotypes being made are ignorant.
1.) Proof got off easy as a few others said. I have no compassion for him, but feel bad for his kids having to had grown up with such a pathetic role model in their life.
2.) The cousin needs to get the maximum possible sentence for the crimes he was charged with no matter how honorable his actions seem at first glance. The fact remains he was carrying a concealed weapon without the proper credentials to a night club. Now, why would he need a gun? It was because he intended on using it if necessary. The stupidity is astounding. When he is making the decision to bring a gun, why wouldn't he make a rational decision and not go there. Again, maximum possible sentence and fines are necessary.
3.) The victim being in the military has no bearing on the story and was only added to sensationalize the story for reporting purposes. Being in the Gulf War is, IMO, not an automatic ticket for respect. If he is directly involved in the drastic escelation of violence like it appears he was, I don't think he is this innocent victim in this event and though he probably didn't deserve to die, I'm not automatically going to buy into him being some sort of upstanding innocent victim being portrayed by the media.

Sorry dude...but it keeps going back and forth. One minute he was there partying and celebrating the fact he no longer needed a pace maker and the next minute he is a bouncer working there. Either way...He was NOT armed yet Proof pistol whipped him and then shot him. Who cares what the cousin did. If there was an arguement over the pool table...so be it. The cousin should have had a permit, but the unlawful discharge charge is BS. Don't get me started on the Vet thing.
