the aviator engine is basically the same engine as a mach I, or mercury marauder. It has the same heads as an 03 cobra, but with an aluminum block instead of an iron block. The only thing it lacks is forged internals.

Its a long story why I have it. I had a forged motor ready to take some serious boost (650+ HP), but the shop that installed it (Vello Performance, Indiana, PA) didnt follow the proper coolant bleed procedure, and overheated it and destroyed everytyhing before I got a chance to run it.

So, waiting to collect from my lawsuit, I couldnt afford another forged motor. I got that aviator motor from the junkyard and put my cobra intake on it. The neat thing about the lincoln aviator is that its a BOORING VEHICLE, and the guys at the junkyard have no idea what type of engine is really in it. I stole that complete motor out of a brand new wrecked vehicle for 2 grand.

Im enjoying this forum so far. Its interesting learning more about the stuff you guys do to the contours.
