Capitol CEGer phil took the passenger side airbag I was giving away to use an an educational demonstration for his children.
From phil:
"I wanted some visual feedback for the kids - so I stretched a rope between two trees in my back yard, and hung a soccer ball down from it, right in front of the airbag.
I had intended for the "attachment" point above the soccer ball to remain stationary (and the soccer ball just rotate around it).
Wrong:
The force of airbag impact on the ball dragged the attachment point 30' down the overhead rope. Wow."
