obviously What I tried to say was that people do the opposite...rims first than brakes. Or rims first and no brakes at all. The main thing is that you do upgrade your brakes.

Believe it or not, from 1987 till 1994 I owned a Caprice like that one (med sage metallic, hard top), it was my grandfathers car and I got it when he passed away in 87'. By the time the early 90's came around it has a 406 s/b, 4000 stall and 4.88 gears, drag suspension and cheater slicks and it was FAST, not mid 13's fast, but mid 12's fast and it weighed 4000 lbs

But, sometimes the wheels need to come first if the brakes they plan on getting do not clear the stock wheels and they can't afford to do the complete upgrade at once.

Not that that's the case here, but just saying.
