My car is running almost every bolt on an SE automatic Contour should have- and what I mean by that is choosing mods that won't require a swap from auto to manual. "Sensible" mods I guess I should say.
The highest rating an SE has dynoed, that I've seen, was Josh's SE last year, @ 165wp right? I know Russel3L had an auto before his swap, but that's besides the point Anyways, even with headers my car probably won't break 150whp. The auto transmission sucks up that much potential. I would never hold up against a stock SVT. Maybe off the line

Below are your mods (that will affect power or "top speed" Blue for beneficial, red for possibly harmful
Quote:
k&n filter, SVT TB, SVT UIM, SVT LIM, MSDS headers, MSDS Y-pipe, SVT dual exhaust, Custum burned ADC chip, 17" rims
Now, I've stripped away ALL the things that a STOCK SVT has, that you have ADDED.. this is what you have left:
Quote:
k&n filter, MSDS headers, MSDS Y-pipe, Custom burned ADC chip, and 17" rims
Now, take in to account that your K&N flows "slightly" better but NOT terribly better than a STOCK SVT intake, I'll toss THAT out..
So... you've ended up with:
headers.. a y-pipe... and... a chip. All on heavier rims, and withOUT the cams, pistons or raised compression, with a powerband that falls FLAT on its FACE at 5500-ish (top-speed, anyone??)
So, how is it that your car (with LESS performance pieces than a STOCK SVT, lower compression, and a power curve that falls OFF at the TOP) is going to compete against an SVT in the "top speed" category with the installation of headers and a Y?
Nothing personal, I'd hash this out with anyone that stated something anywhere near as unfounded.

the only thing better regualar duratecs have is a better low end because of the cams and that is slightly debateable.

Leave the res and remove the mufflers!!!! OK so that was my Zetec, but it was the best sounding Zetec around. And if that exhaust is all one piece, I'll install it cheap!!!!

hey my rims are for a purpose because i wanted wider tires to handle the twisties better and top speed of a svt is 148 well my car has been above that aready thats why i say top speed and ill race an svt sometime but untill then cant argue
