Why will you need to replace the resonator? Unless something is wrong with it, I would leave it.
I got my daughter an SVT exhaust for her car (98 SE), she hasn't mentioned any rasp. She doesn't have the resonator though, she has a glasspack.
Everyone tells her that the car sounds really good. I haven't heard it yet (she's in CT) so I can't say, just repeating what I've heard.
