Who complains about stereotypes? Hip-hop culture has gone mainstream because of kids in your neighborhoods buying it. I see white kids all of the time who have more gangsta hip-hop records than I'll ever have. They become part of the stereotype too.
And about being disrespected because of being black, it happens of everyone in a minority no matter what class structure you are in. There is a reason my granddad had a tough time in the Army to eventually become a general. It's even happened to me. I hate to use the old cliche "you wouldn't understand" but it works here.
