Thanks pappy. The engine's not broken in yet and I'm getting about 25 mpg. Oh, gotta love Wally World - they have 5 quart jugs of the Motorcraft 5W20 Premium Synthetic Blend for under $10.  I think Ford finally got it! I believe I might be able to change the filter without spilling oil all over the place.

i always loved that process.
step 1 - drail oil
step 2 - cover entire underside of car with rags to absorb oil from filter
step 3 - unscrew filter
step 4 - watch angrily as hot, dirty motor oil flows all over your arm, the car's front crossmember, and exhaust (also hot)
step 5 - clean up
step 6 - drive away and smell burning oil for 50 miles.

place tinfoil over exhaust and shape it to direct oil into pan.
works great, never get oil on the exhaust...blah

I hate it when it gets on yur hands and then runs down your arm. But what really bothers me is when it lands on your stomach and for some reason it always feels cold  ...... oh wait a minute what are we talking about again?
