Hey guys. My brother bought a new (for him) car that needs some help. To thank me for helping him, he gave a an amp. It's an MTX thunder 280, that the previous owner sanded the paint off of to give it "bling" [shudder]. I felt bad, so I took this poor amp to give it a better home, where it won't be treated so poorly. I hooked it up yest, and to my surprise, it works! So my dilemma. I currently have an Orion 4004, sending 50wrms to my Polk 5x7 up front, and bridged to send 200wrms to my sub (12" Infinity Kappa Perfect). The MTX is rated at 160wrms bridged, but I know MTX is known for underrating their stuff. Should I use the MTX to power my Pioneers in the rear doors, or use it to power the sub, and let the Orion push all 4 doors? As a side note, would running the Orion in 4ch mode make it work any less/cooler than bridging teh rear channels? What do you think, and why?

Well I think you should find out which amp put's out the most rms power for that sub at the correct ohms and insure that it can be bridged to one channnel. Then I would use the other amp to power my front and back speaker at the correct ohms and four channel mode. After I do that I would test tone the whole system and be happy. Good luck!
