Hi, I just bought a 1998 Mercury Mystique on an Automatic transmission, and after driving between 80 KM/H and 90 KM/H which is between 50 MPH and 55 MPH the transmission slams gears when changing. When changing from first to second i get a slam as if i just got rear ended and same happens throughout the rest of gears. If anyone knows what the problem is or might be can you please e-mail me at shorty2hotty30@hotmail.com or leave a private message. Thanks

Probably, internal line pressures are too high.

Take it to a tranny shop (or do it yourself) and have them test the line and EPC pressures.

Also, run the KOER PCM Quick Test to see if any tranny-related codes are generated.

Thanks Steve. My dad happened to take the car today to get checked out and they say most likely it is the pressure lines or a switch. Thanks again
