x2, but I wouldn't necessarily use that phrasing... I'd call or e-mail him and say, "Hey, didn't you apply a few months ago? What happened with that?" Then after he gives you his excuse, say, "It's too bad you didn't use my name like you did last time. I would have gotten a referral and helped you out."
Then, depending on his response, you can decide whether to assist him again. That's what IWD
