I work for an outsourcing company called Belcan, I work at Hamilton Sundstrand in the Structures group with my primary focus on JSF as well as GP7000, PW6000, F100, PW4000 and a few other engines. My main task is to setup engine tests to collect vibration data so that parts can be qual tested on a shake rig. Part of this is also to reduce and analyze the data collected.

So basically I am working to certify components on JSF so the engine is ready for Initial Flight Release.

I make $31.20 an hour after the raise I just got for being here a year

Thinking of going to D.C. next year and will be making $28/hr. I'll be working at the NIH. However, I'm also looking for jobs in Detroit. If I can find something around ~$25/hr, I'll stay here. D.C. is just too expensive to live in! Plus, I have to finish up two more classes after this term before I graduate, so even more of a reason to stay in MI and wrap it up in the summer.

You didn't get into Medicine, Neil?

As for myself, I'm and Application Engineer for SKF, and work on Class 6, 7 and 8 truck bearings, mostly wheel ends and transmission applications.

Salary, pretty decent, and I get a company car, phone and CC so I can't complain.
