Well the 98+ Contours and Cougars all use a returnless style fuel system. You will need to change over to a return style to use the FPR and 255lph fuel pump. I heard from Turbo Tom on the Focus forums that you can just disconnect the fuel pressure transducer on your fuel rail without any reprogramming. (It the pressure sensor that tells the PCM how much fuel that you pump needs to supply.)
For pre-98's with the return style fuel syetem, it's all a direct swap. And the FPR isn't specualation. I've had mine on and working now for months...
The 255lph pump did require modifying the return line into the tank. (There is soo much fuel flow now that the stock return was aerating the gas.
) I've been meaning to post picks on the upgrade.
So do the Cougars have the fuel pump right under the rear seat too?
