First the details; 1996 COntour GL, Duratec, Automatic, 170,000Km. The car has just started clicking. The noise appears to be coming from the Front passenger side wheel well area. The clicking is more pronounced when the car is in gear, reverse, drive, 2 or 1. The clicking is still present when in park or neutral but not as loud. The clicking volume increases with throttle application but not necessarily with speed, ie. it will click louder while accelerating but back off the gas and the clicking gets quieter but is still there. My first thought is the alternator or power steering pump because of the location, any input is appreciated. BTW all systems appear to be working fine other than the clicking sound.
