I doubt it is. The lower O2 sensors are to monitor the efficiency of the precats.

Anytime the CEL is lighted, the PCM goes to limp mode and you will run rich. So, yes, it will affect fuel economy.

replaced my IMRC today because the box itself had become damaged. now my car bogs and bucks heavily around 1500 rpm, expecially in second gear, stalls when i am reversing and when idling the rpms drop very low and then rebound just before the car can stall. what does this sound like? i am lost and getting a little fed up with all the problems as of late. hope this is something simple. havent even finished paying for my $900 steering rack yet.

Get it scanned at Advance or Autozone and post the code(s). In the meantime, clean the IAC valve.

A pending code will not light up but will still be stored. So scan it every other day or so. You may have forgotten to install a connector or vacuum hose somewhere during the IMRC install.

just took things back apart because i remembered how there was a metal connector that was not attached to its place. it is part of the spring loaded mechanism that the IMRC cord connects too, but was not connected when car was running fine either. all the vacuum hoses are connected properly, but i could not get them to sit like they did before. could someone send a pic of how they should look? i dont think this is the problem however. what is really going on here?

could not replacing the throttle body gasket cause a vaccuum leak like this?
