PR is getting the message out there... you'll come up with your "plan of attack" as to the best way to promote it.
Think of it this way: you're a PR rep for an auto company... new product is coming out and you have to sit down with your team to devise a plan to get media coverage. You know like in Car & Driver where they'll do their "Sneak Peek"-type thing with like an H3 out in the desert or whatever? Manufacturer sets those up for product launches and invites the media out to drive the product and (hopefully) write articles on it to increase the exposure.
That sounds more of what I want to do...

of course you are 4+ years from graduating as it sounds like you are just finishing up with HS or 2+ yrs out if you are transferring from JuCo. A lot can change in a persons beliefs about what they want to do in that time.
True story, and I know Money isn't everything, but my job offers out of college were 50% higher than those with a marketing degree.
Marketing majors are dime a dozen and generally people who could not stomache the Finance or Accounting classes.

Yea Im actually in my first year at a community college...hence why im taking transfer classes. But after all these stories and suggestions, it sounds like PR and advertising is more along the lines of what Im looking to do. Marketing might be a minor for me.
Plus Im worried too that the 2 colleges I wanna transfer too have the same classes in common with a marketing degree, so if Im undecided, I can pick between the two..but Im not sure if they'll both have classes in common for a PR degree.

Perhaps you should find youself a better college with a better program geared to what you want to do when you graduate. The most local colleges to you may not be the best in helping you find a job when you graduate. Find a college with a really good program that has great placement rates out of college and that positions itself as a top tier school for that industry.

Well I will be going to a better college after these classes...Ill be earning a Bachelors in whatever I choose in the end of it all. This community college is just to get some core classes out of the way, then junior year Ill be at MSU or Grand Valley finishing up my Bachelor's.

Are either of those schools positioned in the upper tier of Advertising/Marketing, Journalism, PR programs? If not, I would suggest you apply to other schools if you expect to get hired by a Madison Avenue Advertising firm.

Yea MSU would be more up there than Grand Valley..but Grand Valley is more known through Michigan and the surrounding states.

I've got a BS in Marketing (U. of Richmond). I pretty much stuck to the sales route after graduating, up until the past year. I'm the Channel Programs Manager for Lenovo (formerly the IBM PC division). Basically, I've got a budget I control that is used to run the incentives for our partners and influence their purchase behavior.

Communications degree = nothing. I should know I have one.  It's the only field I really like so that's what I obtained my bach.'s in it. It's one of the easiest degrees to obtain IMO. It also won't get you anything too high paying.
