As hard to admit as it is I would recommend against a sole marketing degree. I have a BS in Marketing and a minor in Business and a Business degree would get me a lot further.
Marketing is a lot like Psychology were its pretty much useless without a minimum of a masters degree. You can get a retail management job with companies like Best Buy and Target butnot the types of jobs you would think you should get.
I graduated just over a year ago and started in the finance industry becuase the marketing field is plagued with glorified sales jobs
