As for lack of options, I know how to read a map. Nav is for wussies. And pretentious show-offs.
Stop drinking the Ford kool-aid. The car clearly is a cut below all of it's japanese and korean contenders. And it is not because there is no nav option. How can a car that has a base price of 18K not have ABS standard?
As todras stated, the use of interior materials is horrid. The interior looks like it was designed as an afterthought. The cookie-cutter radio sticks out like a sore thumb in this day of highly integrated stereo units.
Ford kool-aid? LOL Until I bought my Contour, I hated Fords with a passion. I'm not saying that there aren't other car's I'd buy over the Fusion. I love the Sonatas. I like Jettas too, even though they're pricey. I'd also consider a G6. Besides, I don't think the Fusion is really positioned for direct competition with the Camry and Accord. That's the 500's job seeing as it's the Taurus replacement, more or less. Just because two cars have V6s and four doors doesn't mean they're meant to compete with each other.
As for integrated stereo units, I really don't care for them. Stock radios are pathetic, over-priced junk. All the highly integrated units do is jack the price up and make it more difficult to install a quality audio system. So give me a cookie-cutter radio any day, I'll take the money saved and sink it into paying down the principal on the loan.
And I stand by my "NAV is for wussies" comment, regardless of what they drive.
