So our gardener had to take some debris from the back yard (we redid a little of the landscaping) requiring me to take both our cars outta the driveway, no biggie I guess, anyway I forgot about it until later on when I was taking out the garbage and realized that the cans go near where I had the car parked.

I know the garbage people out here and what they'll do to our car muwahahaha, so I go ahead and decide to park it (these questions always have a little backstory), and get reunited with something I noticed back when I drove the car a bit (and the IAC issues made it somewhat dysfunctional)...

Oh yeah still haven't gotten around to fixing that yet, been too much **** going on lately to do much! Gah, well anyway, I back up..

*idle kicks up* *car stops moving* *shrugs* *kicks gas pedal a little* *car jerks back into action*

*backing out, making a nice little turn with all the windows so fogged up I have no idea where the F I'm going (but I know our court like the back of my hand and there were no surprises while I was out so phew) -- except when I was pulling into the driveway, trying to get around my crappy parking job on the 300 lol. I meant to re-park it but forgot that TO!O

So as I'm going up the driveway it did it again. Nice! Thankfully given the situation I gave myself tons of room for screwup so no big deal, but yeeah..

I think the transmission fluid needs changing.

Yes, cold worn fluid will do this.

I would try changing it, using the 4 quart drop method, and see what happens. If you have taken really good care of your tranny in the past and had a flush or two done to it, then I would say that it was ok to do that. But if not or you are unsure of the history of care, then just do the 4 quart change by pulling the drain plug on the bottom of hte tranny and refilling.

You might need an MLPS switch which tells the computer which gear to go in.
