With Michigan's no fault laws if some hits a parked car they have to pay for the damage in full. I would get some kind of proof that will hold up in court that he agreed to pay for all the damage. Also I would get pictures and estimates. These days peoples word are not worth much.

I have pictures of both cars and three other people saw him hit the car. I went and pulled the battery and the battery tray and got prices for bumper covers it's only about 250 in damage. I called the police and they came out and said that it's not enough damage to do a report. They have a 400 or more rule. WTF

Thanks
Mike

Thats the best way to go, if he is willing to pay out of pocket go to the best place in town to repair it, get a quote, take it to him have him write a check.

WHATEVER!!!

no report means no claims, which means he doesn't have to do [censored]. if he changes his mind, you are SOL

I think the paint work required will take it WAY over $400.

Sorry, couldn't help but think about that skit. Sucks man, like someone said, least he fessed up. Too many people just walk away from accidents like that. Doesn't look like too much of a complicated repair though. Good luck!

LOL!!!!!!!!! Definitely a good SNL skit!
