After much debate, I went ahead and blew 1 months rent on the Koni Sport Kit. At 140K miles, my stock original suspension is just completely dominated (with the exception of the LCA's which I already replaced). Now I have that sinking feeling where I hope I made the right choice in spending probably about 35% of the cars actual value on a modification. I'm hoping I can just rebuild this car as it needs it and hang onto it until it's just hopelessly outdated. I love driving it and it has proven itself very reliable thus far. It's getting into that part of it's life though where it's wanting more attention now. I'm sure once I get the kit installed these feelings will disappear ... I'll post the results of my upgrade from a shot stock GL suspension to a Koni kit as soon as I install it.

I <3 my Koni kit. On full soft I had 0 regrets (right after install). Now Im at one turn from soft, and I couldnt imagine having it any other way. I havent tried any harder, yet.

Throw on a 19mm SE rear sway bar. You'll like the kit even more.

Step it up to full stiff. I roll around like that at all times. It's not THAT bad when you hit little bumps, but it feels awesome in turns.

Nah... at least not at first. Many people on here have reported that their car aligned just fine after the kit install, so I'm hoping I can get away without it, too.

I was thinking about upgrading the rear bar, but I'll need to wait on this a little bit. Would you recommend trying to find a used bar and put new bushings on it, or getting the 19mm BAT bar?

The BAT 19mm is THE 95-97 SE bar. New urethane bushings are a must.

You said you need to hang onto this car. The koni's should help. In their instructions, it is sateted the purpose for the adjustablity is to compensate for wear (weakening) over time. Even though most folks buy them for sporting use, that is not Koni's intent, but your value-mindedness, is.

Thanks Zee.. thats great info. It's especially helpful since I don't have the instructions yet, or even a tracking number for where my instructions (along with the rest of the koni kit) are currently located. My guess is sitting inside the warehouse in Florida where AJUSA said they would be drop shipping the kit from. Every day that I drive this car the suspension is just screaming at me for replacement... I hope this kit gets here sometime soon... then I hope I have an open weekend to install it soon! Thanks again
