No, I don't think it's obvious. If I knew him personally, then it might be, but I don't. Therefore I have to assume what he said is what he meant. There's a reason you can preview your post before actually posting it, and a reason you can edit after posting. The extra minute or two of editing is worth it to make sure you are saying what you mean and meaning what you say.

do minorities generally have to work harder to achieve the same level of success as a white person? sure do.

well, if you have the ability to cognitively reason the point he is trying to make (i'll give you a hint, there is other stuff in his response besides that statement!), you would easily surmise that he didn't mean it that way. either you're looking for an argument, or you have the reasoning capability of a ten year old.

I think each person puts themselves into a position of racism, if yu surround yourself in good people, you in tern become a good person.
and if you hoenstly think people hold other people back because of race, then i feel bad for whatever job/life you have/lead.

hah... i tell you what. you come down to inner city detroit, and attend high school there for a week. then tell me how likely it is that you will have the same opportunities as a white kid from the suburbs.
not only do i think people hold others back because of race, i know some do, because i've seen it in action. i know people who won't hire a black guy with the same skills and background as me. you live in a canadian coccoon of stupidty if you don't believe discrimination still exists today.

agreed, i disagree with Slavery 1000% and maybe someone in my bloodline was a slave trader, but why should I have to pay for it? Was it me that inslaved you? were you the one inslaved? NO, you dont deserve anything just because your Great Great Grandfather was a slave.
Same thing that happens with indians, or Native americans, whatever, they "Claim" land as theirs, then they hold the land a while and sell it off, or build a casino on it and make some money, they get friggen meal tickets with everything.
