Hi
I have a 1998 UK ST24 with the V6 which is standard 170bhp.
I want to increase the power and have been told to put on an SVT UIM, LIM and throttle body which should increase to approx 198bhp.
Is the SVT the equivilant to our ST200 which is 205bhp?
I already have a performance stainless twin exit exhaust and a pipercross induction kit fitted.
Can anyone confirm this to be correct?
Any suggestions where I can source these from in the US as apparently they are a third of the price they are in the UK.
Many thanks

Yes, although 198hp is a pretty high estimate. The SVT/ST200 also have different camshafts and tuning to help increase horsepower. You will probably be around 185-190hp with your mods.

Probably not. The increase was from 9.8:1 to 10.0:1 until the slightly smaller engine was introduced part way through the 99 model year when it went to 10.25:1. The .2 increase on the early SVT was not a big factor in increasing power. The cams and intake manifolds/throttle body were the biggest factors. They work together so in my mind it would be hard to say which of the two areas makes the biggest difference.

Have you looked at the low-end numbers? The SVT just flows better.
Like Jim said: manifolds can't flow if the valves aren't open, and duration doesn't help if the heads don't flow.

lets not forget the computer...its been proven twice,on the dyno that it adds hp/tq,more than i've ever seen just tb/manifolds add
