You are right, the front end does look terrible, but still...

Unfortunately, having a seperate set of gears for the strip doesnt work well. Ford 9" rear-end are a piece of cake. A 12 bolt is an absolute [censored] to swap out gears.

yea its not the funniest thing ive ever done, but the 455 i already have in my drag boat and the hull is shot, so im scraping the hull and rebuild the motor for the street because right now its cammed for the water . but i have unlimited dyno time here down at school so ill be able to fine tune it. along with unlimited machine shop so i cant wait. i have a little 350 in it now , but im not going to release it until i get it complete, atleast until i put the big block in

Let me show my "automotive ignorance" here The Buick motor is a torque monster and if its a 70' GS455, its puttin' down 510 ft/lbs of torque @2800 rpm and thats in stock trim! Horsepower is "rated" @ 370. Adding a set of headers, aluminum intake, better carb thats re-jetted and messing with the timing, should net pretty good results. Now if you get into a set of aluminum heads and bump up the compression ratio, not to mention a good roller cam, look out
