im going to have to agree that this may have been the worst show of a already horrible series. if it were heads up all the time and the drama was more based on what to do between each round to improve the car it would be a much better show

i thought they had some say in who/what they were going to race. its reasonable to bring a turbo civic to the drag strip, but not when you have NO idea what you might be paired up against  im gonna start building a turbo Shogun and go take home a new car!

I don't think the show is as rediculous as you all are making it out to be. Sure, the host is a douche and prolly thinks a torque wrench is a protein bar or something, but it isn't all bad. Everyone is knocking all the "car lengths" and what-not and saying it sucks because its not heads up. It's meant to even the playing fields...and if you've ever been in a "street racing" scene, thats how it works there too. They make deals so the race is more fair, because whats the fun of watching a stock...99 mustang gt vs a 06 vette on spray....I mean, its pathetic. The whole point of the show is to have street racing in a safe environment, and of course...you car is at stake.
besides...its 1 more car show you can watch...

Exactly everyone's point. Nothing is fun about it. Giving the stang 20 lengths won't make it exciting either. It only gets the host an opportunity to look like an idiot and for all the racers' buddies to get on tv.
If they had cars going heads-up (the only negotations should be for more boost, nitrous,etc. if they have negotations at all) and a host that knew something, it'd be cool. The whole first season he didn't know how to flag a race right, heck he still confuses the racers sometimes with his million movement flagging.
And as far as street racing scene goes, we NEVER do that here. The most we give is the jump (hit the gas after other car goes). I know people in other places do it, but I think it's just as gay on the street as it is on the show. Around here, we just don't race fast cars vs. slow cars. Makes sense huh?

actually that's not a bad idea wasnt it the 24 hours at Le Mans where the drivers used to actually run across the track to their cars and then take off? that was great stuff right there!

IMO the only type of racing is headsup no restrictions, there should be no handicap for racing..

i have an idea. give me a broken down pinto. hell, take the engine out. start me 3-4 carlengths away from the finish line (depending on the car i'm racing of course...), and i'll push across for a chance to take some guy's car.
think those negotiations would go well?
