I just bought this today...
Yep its a Traxxas T-maxx 2.5R...I broke down and bought one. I am very pleased with it. I love this thing. I got red bumpers for it since I know I am going to hit stuff. Here are some more pics I managed to snap today with my cam
Lemme know what you think and any mods I should get for it.
As soon as the dirt gets soft again I will take some more pics of it playing in the dirt. If you ever wanted a nice RC truck...I suggest this one. Also I owned one of these before (bout 3 years ago) and this one is 10000x better/faster than the old one

How much $$? Do you think it'd be waaay too much truck for my 6-year-old son to master before he irreparably breaks it?

OMG get him a electric one...I recommend something like... This for a youngin...I think its to much for him because its nitro powered and can go over 40 MPH...On the box it says in BIG letters...NOT FOR KIDS UNDER 16 WITHOUT DIRECT ADULT SUPERVISION. But the link i gave you would be perfect for em...ebay is cheap for em...also I paid 330 for my t-maxx

fun! we have some cheapy RC truck that my parents bought a couple years ago from Toys R Us. We brought it with us to a ford-trucks.com meet recently. It's pretty fun. I never owned an RC car. My brothers had a couple, but they broke them pretty fast.

my brother has that same truck, he built a custom rollcage to go under his body so that it doesn't break as easily. ill have to see if i can get some of the pictures of him jumping it.

BTW metal cages arent worth squat. Plastic (namely Delrin) are much stronger.
You should have bought a Savage. They are much much stronger. The way I play would destroy a Maxx in seconds, as I have seen them destroyed quickly with a fraction of the abuse.
Though just for fun, it should be a blast. RC monsters rock!

Nice truck. I remember the first time I fired up my nitro I smashed it into a curb lol. I haven't run it in a while but it's certainly entertaining. here's a pic. [image] [/image]
