Wrong.. In MI everybody has to file through their own carrier unless it is a "hit while parked" incident in which you would be able to file though the at fault party.
If he has LIPD only, the most he can do is file for a mini-tort through the at fault carrier for a max of $500.
If you have Broad form collision coverage your golden.. won't have to pay a dime.




You are right about the MI No-Fault provision with respect to Property Damage but I don't know how Broad Form ultimately helps other than out of pocket following a loss, as the carrier can raise your rates based on frequency of loss. MI system is crazy!
