Oh man .. so sad. I love that car (just because it's the earliest known SVT, and my favorite color combo to boot ) ... glad to hear you're fixing it.

I think I'd keep the pinstripe, just because it marks the car as one of the earliest SVT production models.

I also read in your sig that it was born in November of '96??????????? Is that right for a 1998 model year??? They really got a jump start on the new body style!

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

Update.
Took it to the shop for an estimate. Without getting prices on parts, He's figuring between $4000 and $4500, maybe more, to fix. It shouldn't cost me anything as my insurance will cover all but $500 and the at fault driver's insurance should cover that. The only concern that the body shop owner had was that the insurance co. may try to total the car. He and I both said we would push them to fix it as it is a limited production vehicle along with the significance of the first day of production, extremely low production number, and extremely pristine condition of car. If they still do total it he suggested buy it back and repair it myself, which I would have done even if he hadn't suggested it. Now, just waiting for the body shop to get the go ahead and schedule a date to fix it.

Tour...
The 98 model change was actually a late model year introduction in 97 (Jan or Feb 97) therefore the reason for the 98 year designation. The first day of production for the SVT was Nov. 12, 1996, and it was introduced to the public for sale in January or February. From what I gathered from SVT was that my car was used by automotive journalists for their evaluations during this time period (Nov 96 to Jan 97).
