Ford DOES NOT SPECIFY MERCON FOR THE MTX-75.

And Terry will disagree with me, but the only written guidance I've seen (the "infamous" TSB 00-1-9) "recommends" the honey for early MTX-75s, but "requires" the honey for cars built after 1 Jan 2000.

Of course, if you call the parts counter, their book (which is not really a "spec") will say "honey." Don't be confused. The honey is compatible with early MTXs, and can even be used to top off a Mercon-filled MTX, according to the TSB, so that's what the parts guy will sell you.

So in my mind the "spec" for cars built prior to 1 Jan 2000 has not changed.

That said, I don't mean to say anything about what you "should" use. In that I have to agree with Terry, but I'm running the RP anyway, at least at present.
