I know, by reputation, that Kimber makes a very fine handgun. I am in the market for a .45. I really like the Kimber 1911 Eclipse Target II. However, the Warrior also interests me. Problem is, I cant find a Warrior to fondle (LOL) or to actually test fire.
I don't really need to go into other makes or calibers. I'm covered there (Sig & Beretta), what I want, and for no particular reason, is a 1911 from Kimber.
Does anyone have any first hand experience with the Warrior? Perhaps some of you Jarheads?
TIA,
Mark

I actually like Wilson Combat better than Kimber, but only by a hair.
Kimber has some of the best "out of box" 1911s you can get your hands on; I belive my next .45 will be an Eclipse (good taste there) or CDP unless I come across something better for the dollar (doubtful). I've liked every Kimber I have picked up and shot (barring the Ten) as they are all built like tanks , have great tolerances and excellent trigger-feel right out of the box.
I've never shot or even seen a Warrior, so I can't be of any help there, but the Eclipse I have shot and it's an excellent side-arm.

the new 45 springfield XD holds IIRC 14 rounds . . .
Something to think about. (for me its more comfortable than a glock - and I shoot more accurate as well)

Built like tanks is right! 38oz! Compared to a 30 oz. Sig P229 (9x19); certainly the heft aids in the 'out of the box' accuracy. Fit, finish and materials seem to be simply outstanding on the Eclipse.
Which Wilson do you like JaTo? CQB?
Here you go Pete:
Wilson CQB
Sig Sauer P229
Kimber Eclipse Target II
Kimber Warrior

Sig P220 or the Sig1911. I've always had good dealings with Sig, so I am partial to sig. I'dbe interested to see price difference between Sig and Kimber.

Classic, CQB or Protector are all smashing guns. I have a two-tone Classic that I traded up to and have loved it... I would LOVE to get another Wilson, but they've really jacked their prices up over the past couple of years. Since I'm the farthest thing from a hitman around, it's really tough to justify paying $2-3K for a 1911, especially when Kimber builds almost as good a gun for a LOT less. I think their latest price-raises were $700 on average from when I last looked at them... Bill Wilson is just a touch too proud of his work, despite it being damn-good. This is why Kimber is on my radar-screen for my next 1911.

I'm a Sig biggot like no other, but unfortunately, Sig is rather fresh into the 1911 auto market so I'm waiting to hear about them and see/shoot one myself. I've never shot any of their 1911's and know of nobody that owns one yet.

I've been looking for a P220 compact 45 ACP or P239 .40 for backup, so Sig, of course, was my first choice since I carry P226 .40S&W for standard.
I'd like to see s Sig 1911, but no dealer around carries it in stock without special order. I'll check the Sig Forum.
