Just under the hood of my 95 Zetec. As you know it has been idling rough for awhile. As I was looking at it run, it seemed I could see the serp-belt sliding side to side on the pulleys. There is a long stretch of belt from the upper idler to the PS pump. I can push down and pull up on the belt and watch the tensioner move back and forth? Holy Crap? The belt is 1 year old.
This seems too loose. I wonder if it would cause rough idle?
In the last few days the belt sqeals once or twice a day. If it's slipping, it would cause a dip in Volts from the alternator. Inconsistant volts? rough idle?
I've been thinking perhaps one of my injectors might be leaking-poor MPG.
Any thoughts-thanks!
