Hey all,

as you know or would know if you searched up an older post from November, I messed up the passenger side of my SVT pretty well.

Now that the weather is getting better, I am working on what I can repair, and getting the rest ready to hand over to Boyd.

The white streaks on the rear passenger door are the most annoying, it's a paint from a meridian that is layered over top and caked on pretty well, my thumbnail kinda removes a little of it. I tried buying products to remove it (things like goo-gone, etc) but did not work out. There is also dents at the front of the rear side door (follow?), I was going to buy one of those 30$ dent repair kits, and see what happens. Good idea/Bad Idea?

Suggestions?

I've also messed up my passenger fender quite well. I'm thinking that I am goign to have to have a repair shop do it, though at the begining I thought I might be able to repair with a new fender from another year contour SE or something. Pretty sure I'll leave this for the pro's though.

And how this happened I still am not sure. On the nose of my hood and the oval there is a dent and a crack. The hood is now off to the left at least 1.5". I'm not sure if you can see from the pictures this senario. I've been told I can adjust the hood back over, but haven't yet looked into it.

And Lastly, my headlight was broken off form the mounts and now gets moisture in it. I've repaired the mounts, so that it isn't just the hood keeping it on but, the moisture is still there. Suggestions?

Thanks for all your feedback!

cheers!

try wetsanding with 2000 grit on the white paint, might take a while but if the stock paint is untouched (not scratched off) it should remove it. Then buff it out.

The hood looks like the hinges are bent. A fender from a 98+ SE should work fine.

i will definetly try the sandpaper grit, i forgot about trying that. And yeah I had though that any countour 98+ fender would work, just need to find one now.

And the hood mounts are bent? I didn't see that but I will check again

before you go to the trouble of sanding. Try using a clay bar. I have had success w/ the Mother's brand clay bar.

Remove halogen lamps, then use hair dryer to blow in the lens assembly to dry it out.

A solvent such as gasoline works well to take that white paint off. The clay bar might work as well.
After I would wax it three or four times to ensurea good seal.
