TurboTom is a great help to the Turbo Zetec'ers over on the Focus Fanatics Forum. I had a bad experience with ADC, so I'll probably contact Tom first.

Turbo Tom is great. What I had is basically a mail in chip. He tuned for 42# injectors, Mustang GT MAF....and look at the a/f.....perfect.

It's amazing with how many people here want a turbo kit and think they need to make the turbo manifold. Just purchase a turbo manifold for a focus. The manifold for the 2.0 fits fine in my tour - I had a ATX on the car and recently installed a MTX. I was using a RRFPR and a MSD DIS 2. To start with, I had a SSautochrome 4into1 focus shortie with an adaptor to mount the turbo(t3)onto the SS piece. Worked fine. Keeping the turbo nice and close to the engine makes for quick spool and makes the most of underhood area. Basically the turbo replaces the CAT and you (if you need to have one..) move the catalytic converter further downstream. HENRY

it realy depends on what turbo you have and where you want to mount it. mine is getting mounted just under where the battery goesbecause of the turbo itself. the battery is getting relocated to the trunk.

I've actually got a stock focus header. I'm getting a short adapter pipe made to go between the header and the turbo. That way I can use any aftermarket Focus header as an upgrade in the future.
My problem right now is money. I'm working on paying off my credit card bfore continuing on my project. It sucks but it something that I've gotta do.
BTW, striker2, I plotted the TE04H-13C11 today. It looks like a very good unit for a stock Zetec. The only problem that I see is that it is a little small. By the time that you hit 6500rpm, you fall off the map (with an 85% VE). You are raelly going to need to use an intercooler to avoid deto at high rpms.
You will have insane boost response. It looks like you reach the boost threshold at 1500rpms. WOW! Also, the torque peak will be around 4000rpms. Very nice.

I would be interested in a kit. Having said that and after reading some of the subsequent posts, I have to express some concern. Shorty or factory Focus headers won't work with my 96 Zetec because of the A/C (or is it alt) bracket. Does anyone else see this as an issue?

I have one bolted to my test motor with no problems. The only issues that I know of when using a Focus shorty header are... -You must get a Focus dipstick and dipstick tube -You must re-route the coolant line that used to bolt to the stock header. Both are relatively minor. Was it a specific header that you were having problems with?

when i first picked up the turbo i did alot of research on it (i got it for free WOOT). and decided that since i personnly dont run it up past 5500 rpm often that it wouldnt be a big problem. i am going to run a side mount intercooler mounted up front (i think i posted that earlier but maybe not)
as for response, im well aware of how fast it will spool and that just makes it even better and a whole lot more fun around town.

That works. I'm going over to my parent's for lunch right now (they have a scanner). Hopefully I'll have it posted later this afternoon.
