How do you keep up with your service records? I have mine serviced for now so i just put the receipts in glove box. But on any self repairs i make my own receipt. using excel. i think its kinda neat (over done but hey what the heck)and i staple the original receipt for parts to it. this is what it looks like:
95 contour 2nd owner
Miles: 98,800
Transmission: Automatic
Engine: Zetec 4 Cylinder 2.0L
Significant Problems:
Wiring Harness (cracking!!)

I keep all chagnes to the car (maintenance or upgrades) in a text file in this kind of format:
5/2/03 104,586 Miles
Oil Change - Mobil 1 (Pennzoil) RainX
6/28/03 108,659 Miles
Intake Manifold Overhaul: Cleaned TB, UIM and LIM Replaced head-LIM, LIM-UIM, TB, EGR, and IAC gaskets Replaced injector O-rings Replaced fuel pressure regulator Replaced fuel rail to LIM seals Cleaned MAF Replaced Spark Plugs
7/3/03 109,086 Miles
Mounted new Yokohama ES100 summer tires on summer rims Mounted summer wheels
I dont really keep maintenance receipts unless it was really pricy or out of the norm. Its nothing fancy at all, but its worked great so far.

We keep the receipts in a file folder, and we have a sheet for each car that lists the services, attached to individual clipboards hanging in the garage. I track the gas I put into my Cougar in an Excel spreadsheet, and keep the receipts in a separate folder.

I keep all service receipts in a file folder. I have all my service done at the dealer, and due to the miles I drive, I get service done almost at a monthly frequency. After over seven years of accumulating these service records, the file gets pretty thick. But when I sell this car, the new owner will have a record of everything done to it. When you can prove the oil and filter were changed every 3000 miles and maintainence was done strictly according to the owners manual, it should help convince a prospective buyer that the car hasn't been abused.

I have an Excel file for each vehicle that I enter in every penny that I've spent on that vehicle, including gas, insurance, payments, etc.
I also have the file chart my mileage, cost per km, and the cost of gas. It also tells me what is due at the next service, and when entering gas info, what services will need done in the next 500km.
I keep all the recipts in a file folder for everything except gas.

I keep it all in the little book that came with the car. Since I do all the work myself, reciepts are all my emails from Bill J

I have a little blue plastic file in the car and everytime I buy something for it, the reciept goes right in the file, although I have only had it for 8 months and the file is almost full.....

I keep a small spiral bound notebook (a little smaller than a 3x5 card) in the glove box. When I perform a maintenance or repair I enter the miles and date on the top line and then the information about what was done on however many lines are needed. On the next entry, I leave one or two blank lines.
An oil change entry would look something like this:
3/30/06 215,118 miles Oil and Oil filter change Mobil 1 5W30 M/C FL820S filter Tire rotation
An annual service may look something like this:
7/18/06 225,245 miles Oil and Oil filter change Pennzoil Plat 5W30 Per 1 filter Tire rotation Coolant change Havoline Dexcool Brake fluid flush Valvoline Synpower DOT 4
Once I got past warranty, I stopped saving the receipts for oil and filter, but I have receipts for most everything else.
