I was thinking of messing with the insert that some of the Mazda 6 spoilers use...never looked at it very in depth, but it looked to be similar sized, the width seemed larger, but that can be addressed...but the more i thought about it, it would be hard to just get that piece alone, and it would be expensive to buy a whole spoiler and harvest parts out of it.

I just stepped out into the rain to examine mine. On the underside, there are two plastic plugs covering screw holes. From just a cursory examination, it should be possible to cut some lexan, clamp the wider edge, heat it until it bends at the same angle the red reflector does, and trim to fit.
Granted, this is just a guess on my part. I'm about to do a trunk swap and lose the spoiler all together, otherwise I might be temped to clear that brake light.

Don't know for sure, but i would bet that the LEDs themselves are red...

Issue with that is....how do the guts look? If the guts of the lamp...PCB, and mounting aren't too nice looking, It would be easier to hide that with a fluted cover like the ones i pointed out before... that's why i was thinking of the mazda 6 ones, they seemed to be similar shape and size (in certain directions)...but like i said before i never really looked much in depth...
I believe that the lamp unit is actually a Hella piece, iirc i remember seeing the hella logo on mine before...
If someone is considering this, pop one open just to have a look...and be sure to post pics.

amarv's clears look really good on his white Mystique. Personally, I'm not big on clears, and I think for the Tour they'll only look right on a white or possibly silver car. That being said, I'm more interested in the process here than anything else. It's always good to learn something new if you can use it to help someone else out down the line.
