If she did so great in school, let her accel to something great. Y hold her back with children??
Why would you mention money? Are you rich or something?
Raising children can be one of the most rewarding experiences anyone can ever experience. The fact that our society devalues stay at home mom's (and dad's for that matter), says a lot about just how hollow our values have become IMHO. My W has been a SAHM (Stay At Home Mom) for the past nine years, and she has had a very rewarding experience. Sure it's difficult at times, just like anything else in life. Only now that all three kids are in school full time is she starting to look into working outside the home (or possibly inside the home via a home business).
I know many mom's and dad's that have chosen to forgo a career in leui of raising their own children and none have any regrets what-so-ever. In fact, they wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.
I am a senior manager at a top ten international law firm, and I feel I've done very well for my age (34) and make a very healthy six figure salary plus bonus. IME corporate America and it's "greatness" is way overrated in comparison to what my wife has done with her life when you look at the big picture and what really matters in life, and this is coming from someone who for the most part really enjoys what I do in my professional career. Please understand that career success is great, but I promise you it's not everything people seem to think it is. When all is said and done, not a single one of us will be sitting on our death bed wishing we'd spent more time in the office, that I promise you.
EDIT: I realize by "something great" we could mean a whole slew of things from missionary work to working for Greenpeace to whatever we can dream up, but for most folks in the U.S. it means making a pile of money IME. In any case, if she views raising children as one of her primary goals in life, then more power to her, giving life and seeing children grow up is one of the most precious gifts we are blessed with.
