Thats about the size of the turbo on my buddies 240sx it's actully the turbo out of an early 90's powerstroke deisel.. you can see it here, as it was the main article for this issue of SCC, at the time that was the previous owners car who sold it to my buddy from school, in that article it's putting out like 250 or so horsepower and it was only running on 3 cyl. because one of the rotors in the dist. was rusted. After my buddy bought the car he had a bunch of motor work done to it, and he just got it tuned yesterday and while only running 18lbs of boost it was putting down around 420hp at the wheels. he was limited to 18lbs of boost because thats all the injectors would allow for fuel flow(while maintaing an operational engine) , so now he is gonna try to sell his other car to uprgade it, and add a stand alone.....he wants to be able turn up the boost to like 27lbs or so break 500hp

No not yet, the car is actually getting more work done to it.. it's got suspension on the way, as well as a new CF hood, as the old one was just a gutted oem hood that was painted flat black and is paper thin... it actually blew open on him on the highway last week and cracked his windsheild....

Well that dump pipe has to be cut, turned, and rewelded. The radiator doesn't really sit close to the turbo. It is going to be a slight issue, but nothing major.

+1, its sad when people are more concerned with dyno numbers than track numbers..

To be fair, I did some research and have been convinced that if the engine is built to rev high enough, spooling at 5k might be plenty low enough. If he's shifting at 9-10k and never goes below 6.5-7k, the turbo may be just what the doctor ordered for low ETs. Not very streetable, or smooth enough power delivery for a road course, but depending on the build of the car, it might be perfect for the 1/4 mile.
So lets see some dyno graphs and timeslips so that credit can be given where due, eh?

Yeah drag slicks are funny If you mean it's funny cuz it's wrong wheel drive, well it'll still beat many rwd cars and most fwd. He's got a drag nova and his dad and him have a 7 second corvette, so..... And it's definitely not a dyno queen. He's building the car to be very fast. He's the kinda guy that if it's not winning, he's gonna keep improving it. Just like he kept turning the boost up on the t3, cracked a sleeve, and now should be making over twice the horsepower when it's all done with the new parts. The first event he plans on taking it to is a nopi event in april. I'll update this with results then.
